Mid Devon Leisure is a part of Mid Devon District Council operating three leisure centres – Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in Crediton, Culm Valley Sports Centre in Cullompton and Exe Valley Leisure Centre in Tiverton.
We are immensely proud of our facilities and the excellent service we provide. Leisure Services Manager
I Joined Mid Devon Leisure in May 2024 bringing with me over 30yrs experience in the leisure industry. In that time I have worked in various roles across the business and completed a Degree in Leisure Management. In my most recent role I was an Area Manager with LED Community Leisure, covering 12 facilities across East Devon and South Somerset. In addition to my long career in Leisure I have also been an ‘on-call’ firefighter for over 20 years serving my local community. I am a keen trail runner and enjoy the gym and spending time with my family. It is great to be part of a big team all sharing a common goal to provide accessible Health and wellbeing facilities to residents and visitors to Mid Devon.
Leisure Business Manager
I joined Mid Devon Leisure at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre in 1998 as a lifeguard. During my time at Mid Devon Leisure I have had a number of roles within the service. Since 2002 I have been in various management roles including being operational at Culm Valley Sports Centre and strategic front of house manager. In 2022 I started a role as one of the new leisure business managers, to operate and develop the quality of the leisure services, assets and product offering, whilst working towards strategic and corporate aims of MDDC. I have always had a passion for health and fitness and in my spare time I like to train in the gym. I love being outdoors searching for my next adventure, and in 2021 I ran my first marathon!
Leisure Business Manager
I have worked for Mid Devon Leisure since 2003 based at the Exe Valley Leisure Centre. My roles have included receptionist, swimming teacher, relief duty officer, duty officer and I am now one of the leisure business managers responsible for strategically developing our facilities. I thoroughly enjoy working for Mid Devon Leisure and I am very passionate about customer care and the importance of great service delivery for our customers.
Fitness Manager
I have been in the leisure industry since 2001, completing a degree in leisure management and sports science in 2003. I’ve worked in private health clubs and leisure centres and have had a variety of roles, including fitness instructor, duty manager, deputy centre manager, personal trainer, senior lifestyle consultant, sales manager and centre manager, all of which have had their different challenges. I have a passion for health and fitness and love the industry. I joined the Mid Devon Leisure team in June 2016 and specialise in health, fitness and wellbeing.
Systems Administrator
I have worked at Culm Valley Sports Centre since 1991, where I was employed as a trampoline and gymnastics coach, and later in a part time role as a recreation assistant. I continued to progress as a relief duty officer and then an administration support officer. In December 2015 I became the systems administrator responsible for the direct debits and the leisure management systems for all sites.
Aquatic Business Coordinator
I have worked at Exe Valley Leisure Centre since 2006. Throughout this time I have worked across multiple roles in which I have gained incredible experience and knowledge. I have been a member of the lifeguard, swim teaching and front of house teams. I have supported the business by stepping into a relief duty officer role and also providing swimming lesson admin support. I am currently one of the Aquatic Business Coordinators, where I aim to make swimming accessible to everyone. I have great relations with all users of the centre and have an extremely wonderful team of swimming teachers to work with.
Aquatic Business Coordinator
I joined Mid Devon Leisure team in 2004, I am adaptable and have held roles such as Front of House, Lifeguarding, Swimming Teaching, marketing, and media content creation. I also serve as a Relief Duty Officer and have offered administrative support for swimming lessons for many years. I am an ASA Level 3 coach, and while Assistant Head Coach at Exeter City Swimming Club, I successfully built a learn-to-swim program and managed my own squad. In 2014, I became a Level 3 Tutor with the STA, licensed to tutor swimming at all levels. Serving as the Aquatic Business Coordinator since June 2024, I believe in leading from the front motivating and developing staff to reach their full potential in order to provide the best Learn to Swim Scheme possible for our community.
Centre Manager
Having worked in Leisure for over 10 years now, I have gained experience in all areas of the business. My previous roles have included Recreational Assistant, Duty Officer, Trainer Assessor, Personal Trainer, as well as Business Support, where I focused on Management Bookings, Administration, Finance and System Support. Alongside these roles, I have completed multiple Level 3 diplomas in Leisure Management and Team Management and have worked across 6 different Leisure sites. In my free time I love spending time with my family and taking part in any kind of racquet sport! I am looking forward to applying my knowledge and experience in this exciting new role, working for Mid Devon Leisure as well as meeting the teams and our customers across the two centres.
Duty Officer
I joined Mid Devon Leisure in June 2024. Prior to this I spent the past 7 years at LED Community Leisure. I started with roles such as lifeguarding, gym instructor, front of house, and for the final 3 years Duty Managing across 4 sites in the East Devon area. I am now a Duty Officer based at Culm Valley, managing the sports and club bookings on our Astro-Pitch and Indoor Sports Hall. I enjoy being a part of the wonderful community leisure facilities create, whilst maintaining excellent customer service and providing a safe clean environment for both customers and staff. In my spare time I am an avid sportsman, regularly attending the gym as well as playing golf and football for my local teams.
Duty Officer
I have worked in the leisure industry for 16 years and started work with Mid Devon Leisure in 2004. My roles have included; class instructor, personal trainer, GP referral trainer, fitness instructor and relief duty officer. At present I am the duty officer responsible for Health and Fitness at Culm Valley Sports Centre.

I joined Mid Devon Leisure in June 2016, prior to this I was the sales manager for 4 and half years at Fitness First in Exeter. I specialise in delivering customer service within the front of house team, and focussing on membership sales. I am also a key team member for the development of corporate membership opportunities.

Duty Officer
I initially joined the Front of House team at Culm Valley Sports Centre in 2019, after many years working at a local Primary School. I am now the Duty Officer for Wetside based at Exe Valley, working with the wonderful team of lifeguards we have here. I love the friendly, fun and welcoming nature at all of the centres, not just within the team, but with our lovely service users.

I started with the Mid Devon Leisure Team in 2022 with this being my first experience working within the leisure industry. My background is security management in shopping centres but my passion has always been for fitness. My fitness journey started at the teen gym sessions at Exe Valley Leisure Centre when I was 14 so it seems fitting that I am now able to drive forward the future of these fantastic facilities.

I have worked in the leisure industry since 2011, which has included private health clubs, holiday parks and leisure centres. I have held various roles in leisure starting as a lifeguard, sports coach, pool manager, duty manager, before joining Mid Devon Leisure in December 2024 as a Duty Officer. I enjoy the busy day to day operations of a leisure centre and I’m big on customer care, ensuring that we provide a pleasant and friendly environment to everyone that comes into our centres.
In my spare time is spending time with family and friends. I have a big passion for football and run a local team that I love being involved with.
Duty Officer
I joined the Exe Valley team in February 2022. Before I began my journey here, I served in HM British Army for 4 years. During my time in The British Army’s largest infantry regiment I deployed overseas, met hundreds of people and learned new skills which hopefully I can transfer and bring to life here. In the short time that I have been here, I have worked as a Lifeguard, Swimming Instructor and Relief Duty Officer. All of these amazing roles have prepared me for a new chapter, Duty Officer. I am so pleased to be a part of this fantastic family and of course meeting all of our friendly customers. Outside of work I enjoy listening to music and spending quality time with family and friends.
Centre Manager
I have been part of Mid Devon Leisure since 2006, and I have worked across all 3 sites in this time. Currently I’m centre manager for Lords Meadow & Culm Valley. Previous roles have included lifeguard, personal trainer, swimming teacher, receptionist and duty officer. My passion has always been in the leisure industry and I always strive to create a great atmosphere for members and staff.
Duty Officer
I have worked in the leisure industry since 2002, for a variety of providers, and have been with Mid Devon Leisure since 2004. I have worked in all aspects of the service, such as a lifeguard, fitness instructor, tennis coach and spinning instructor. In my current post I also train and assess the lifeguard team working in partnership with the Royal Life Saving Society.
Duty Officer
I joined Mid Devon Leisure as a recreation assistant in 2002 at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre. I have always had a passionate interest in health and fitness and regularly use the gym myself. My roles have included fitness instructor and fitness class instructor and was appointed as duty officer in December 2015. I really enjoyed making a difference to people’s lives, helping them achieve their goals.

My previous roles include recreation assistant, receptionist and fitness instructor. My current role means I am responsible for all matters relating to the area of customer service delivery, including staffing, memberships, administration and retail.
