National Fitness Day 2024
Your health is for life
Your health is for life
Having started back in 2011, National Fitness Day has seen millions get involved each year and while bringing people together through physical activity has a hugely positive impact, the campaign has evolved to encourage everyone to view this day as just one step in a much bigger journey.
The theme for 2024 is ‘Your Health is for Life’, which has been carried over from 2023 as it holds a powerful message that can resonate with us all. National Fitness Day is no longer about exercising at just that one moment in time but about the longevity in taking small steps towards a lifestyle which can both protect and improve your health.
WEDNESDAY 18TH SEPTEMBER!
The fitness team are collectively taking a circuits class in the sports hall at 6pm! This is not to be missed – guaranteed to be fun, frolics, and, of course, fitness!
A circuit class is a variety of different exercises at stations, and each person rotates around to a different station every minute or so. No chance of getting bored in a circuits class, especially with the fitness team entertaining you!
Book online, at the centre or call 01884 234320.
The team will also be unleashing our amazing BlazePods for the day in the reception area – these are reaction lights. Tap them as fast as you can and see how many you can hit!
The winner will get a free months membership!
There’s a whole timetable at Exe Valley offering different classes throughout the day – some old favourites and some newbies to try – such as Cardio Tennis, Body Combat and Urban Studio Cycle!
These are free for everyone so why not grab a friend and give them a go (maybe not all of them)!
Book online, at the centre or call 01884 234900.
Exe Valley are also bringing out their BlazePods 4pm – 6pm for a reaction based challenge at reception – the fastest reaction time will be rewarded with 1 months free membership!
What score will YOU get?!
At Lords Meadow there will be a plank challenge across the day, measuring people’s core strength to see who can hold it for the longest!
The plank is an exercise performed on the ground, keeping as still as you can…like the picture below demonstrates:
…we are also offering:
All classes can be booked online, at the centre or by calling direct.
Anything that isn’t bookable, such as BlazePod challenge or The Plank challenge, just turn up and get involved! Good luck!
