F.A.Q

Here are some of our frequently asked questions regarding swimming lessons.

Swimming Lessons.

Our swimming instructors cannot wait to see you and are excited to welcome our students back from the 24th August! As I am sure you are expecting, things will be a little different. As a reminder, following your phone call, we encourage you to share the video with your child to find out more about the measures and procedures we will be putting in place to keep everyone safe. The team are working hard to contact everyone enrolled on the lesson programme by phone. If you haven’t received a call, or email, please contact our call centre as soon as possible; Exe Valley 01884 234900 or Lords Meadow 01884 234970. Please do not arrive for lessons unless you have had confirmation about your child’s lesson as some lessons have changed days/times and spaces are limited. We thank you for your patience and ask that you are respectful to staff upon your return.

I have not heard anything about my child’s lesson should I be expecting a call?

The team are working hard to contact everyone enrolled on the lesson programme. If you haven’t received a call or email please contact your leisure centre.

I don’t feel comfortable bringing my child to lessons at the moment.

We completely understand customers will have concerns. To reassure you we have strict controls in place and we are following industry guidelines, however if you do not feel ready to return please call to discuss your options.

What would happen to my child’s space if I feel they are not ready to return at this time?

They will be added to a priority waiting list for future re-enrolment.

Does my child have to leave the building wet?

We are encouraging children to bring a towel and an item of clothing that is easy to put on after their lesson i.e. dressing gown, onesie and to dry themselves off as best they can. We are constantly reviewing our policies and procedures during Covid-19 and will reopen the changing facilities when it is appropriate to do so.

Why are your measures so different to other leisure providers?

We take the safety of our customers very seriously and we are following both government and industry guidelines. In order for the lesson programme to restart safely for our facilities practices will vary between leisure providers and sites.

When will my direct debit restart?

Direct debits will restart in September, 14th or 28th, depending on your payment date.

Why are Aqua 1 classes not running?

Industry guidelines advise no teaching within the water at this time. Due to the age, and size, of the children in this group there is too much risk in teaching only from poolside. We will continually review the guidance and as soon as teaching in the water is allowed we will look to restart these groups.

What happens if there is an emergency with my child?

Please ensure your contact details are up to date. If necessary a member of staff will address the car park with a loud speaker and a white board with the child’s name to alert the parent/carer.
